Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! This will be my twelfth year teaching fifth grade at Parkview School. I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in elementary education, along with a reading specialist endorsement. I can honestly say that teaching is my true passion. Each and every student offers something unique to the classroom environment. Spending my days teaching to and learning from young people is extremely rewarding.
I am a very proud mom to three incredible children (now adults). My oldest, Tony, is 32 and married, with three wonderful daughters (yes, I am a grandma). He is a traveling E.R. nurse and also attends Bradley University, working on his doctorate degree, living in Florida. My middle son, Joey, is 23 and just graduated from Illinois College in Jacksonville, majoring in economics, with a minor in political science, and will be moving to Arizona this fall to work for Edward Jones as a financial advisor. My youngest, Sara, is 21 and attending Illinois State University, majoring in special education, and will graduate this year. Obviously, my love for learning has rubbed off on them.
It is my goal to make every day a unique learning experience for my students. We will work hard together, but will have many laughs along the way. I look forward to a fun and exciting year!
